This is such a sweet ode to a pet. It reminded me of the love I share with my own two dogs. The reader is left very warm and cozy by the time the poem finishes. I do have one small suggestion, please disregard if you do not agree: In the third couplet, the second line seems to be a tad bit shorter than the rest, kind of interrupting the flow a bit. Maybe you can add another syllable or two, or maybe remove the word terrible from the line before, to make the flow more fluid. Thank you for sharing this sweet poem, it really touched my heart.
wow thank you so much for writing this and sharing your experience. as a lightworker myself, i feel it is my calling now to spread as much love and light into the world right now through my talents. poetry being the one that seems to flow the easiest for me right now, so i decided to activate my writing.com portfolio again and start writing hardcore again. i dont find it as a coincidence that on my first day back on the site in a while, i found this piece. i am 30 years old and i am beginning to prepare myself for parenthood with my husband and through healing myself first, i look forward to all the knowledge a child will have to teach me in my next step in life. i miscarried about 5 years ago and only recently have i been feeling the urgency to create a child again, i feel ready to try again without fear. i now realize the miscarriage was a blessing in disguise and I was definitely not ready then. children are amazing, and to have a child asking you if they themselves are god, is really a beautiful peek into just how informed children are about the nature of reality. i think with michael jackson passing, the lies are being exposed and the world is finally getting to hear his messages, his number one being listen to the children. they are our healers and our bridge to the heavens. again, thank you for sharing this, it really warmed my heart. love and light, julie
