A complex tale, with much going on. If not for the title, I'd not be sure what it was about. Your main character comes to life.

I like the story, the straightforward telling. Brings to mind the stories we find in Robert Frost's poems: life, real and raw.

Personally, I could do without the lecture at the end, explaining to the reader what he or she should make of the story. I DO understand the need of writers to explain their work.
