Your dialogues made me want to find out what happened in the end. And I'd have to agree that there might be people who would sympathize with what happened here.
That was quite the unexpected ending, and pretty much I had to stop myself from laughing.
The beginning was pretty mind grabbing, I was already imagining ghosts or ghouls. I have a few experiences with attics, and they scare me sometimes.
