I like it when a story touches me emotionally. Now, I'm not one for serious stories usually, but this one caught my attention. You did a great job at making me feel for the character. Though, I'm not much for one who drinks his troubles away, I can see why he did. This "love story" has a different take on how things work, and I enjoyed the double element between the two.

I think that my favorite part of the whole story, though, is the last line "Kari has her mother's eyes."
