This could use a lot of work. you have a good base for a story though, but flesh it out some.

Details are important, like with the waitress in the bar, maybe describe what she looks like a little, the tray of drinks she spilled, and maybe the reactions of the people moving back from the table?

Gah! You stop there! Evil person! Though you caught my attention. I love the energy in this one.

I like how you didn't have the core characters as the main focus of the story, would have liked a little more detail, but it may have been a little hard with the tempo of the story.

The formatting made it hard to read, though it wasn't that bad.

If you put an extra space between paragraphs it makes things easier to read on a screen.

As for the story it does fit in with the Resident Evil theme of science made monsters, interesting way of pulling it off with the fog.

Okay this is the kind of story I usually don't read (I don't like end of the world or doomsday stories that much) but this one was well thought out.

And makes me want to go step away from my laptop and the desktop a moment, thanking the Gods that I don't use a smartphone, or even a cellphone.
