I really like this, it reminded me of something Dr. Seuss would write, without the fake words and nonsense. If a stanza is continuing a quote from a stanza before you don't need end quotes in the previous stanza. That's ind of confusing, but "I'm saying something here. Stanza ends here.

"But the quote continues here. So end quotes go here."
I hope that makes sense, I'm terrible at explaining things. Other than that I really enjoyed this, I like your descriptions and simple language. I like how you used the rhyme scheme and meter. I think this is well done.
