Veru interesting piece of work! Characterization is well-done and we are able to get a fair idea of these two diametrically opposite women. What I would like to see though, is a little more depth; I believe the contrast between the the two opponets can be highlighted a little further, making Jessica a bit more haughty and exploiting Beverly's thoughts and situation a little further would make us feel more empathy for Beverly. Maybe a small situation that creates end exemplifies tension between the two? Or having Beverly reflect on her future after she sees the cardboard box? In any case I believe it is a very interesting piece that captures us and has lots of possibilities to be carried forward. Very nice reading!
