Good read....
What I Liked: created a good amount of Empathy for Mike.... really cool!
What I didn't Like: however all other characters seemed a bit empty.
Suggestions: May be you could reduce some of the repeated dialogs (which didn't lead to anything concrete) and add more of what Mike saw during the times of silence, like describing how the other characters looked. That was the only thing missing. You did describe how Mike felt really well .... hats off to you :)
