You have a very readable writing style. I love lots of dialogue and think you are well on your way to your planned novel. More description of people and places would give your story more layers. The new trend seems to be limiting description beyond just enough to let the reader fill in the blanks with their own imagination. But you need to give them enough to get started.

You make a strong argument for this option. Nobody ever said you can't read Shakespeare, history, scientific articles, newspapers, and biographies just because you didn't go to college. Being educated is a choice a person makes throughout their lifetime.
