This started out so heartbreaking! I was scrolling and the title caught my eye and I was like There IS no such thing as an ugly kitten! LET ME LOVE YOU!
I think you've captured the temperament and personality of cats purrfectly (sorry, couldn't resist) I did wonder what age the children were. She seemed a little long winded/philosophical for a young child. But in context it's very possible. The little boy was rather surprisingly eloquent. I can't ever remember meeting a boy so..polite? But I suppose he was humbled by her.
Overall a very sweet read that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. It grabs you by the heartstrings right off the bat.
I'd love to read more about this cat, he's quite the little character.
