This is great writing. I cannot find anything to deny you receiving 5 stars. Your story began with a confrontation that built to a cresscendo (as they would say in musical terms. It gripped my attention that only continue to increase as the story accelerated to its closing. Excellent plot. The two characters played each other very well. Anne was calm but her controlled emotion was a good contrast from the antagonistic approach and demanding character of Luke's. The climax fits beautifully to produce an ending that will place a smile on every reader's face.

I am assuming that the author is making a comparison between the wonderfully sumptuous media presentation of delicious Campbell soup and the drive and energy that is needed to get it into the can "sweltering hothouse of passion" is portraying a picture of cooks and their helpers doing all they can to make this soup taste as good as it looks. It is a great description of typically what it takes to maintain a quality product. Great expression and contrast. Thanks,
