The beginning is abrupt but it works well to show the suprise the person at the keyboard is feeling.(the reader is thrown into the situation without warning also)

I like the plan the old man comes up with. Even though the plan never gets used it shows how the situation can go from bad to worst very quickly. The fact that he is willing to "put up a fight" helps the reader to know a little more about what kind of old man this is.

There are a couple of details that were well crafted into the plot to give the reader a sense of who the old man was.(history of the letter opener and nations favorite grandfather)

Overall I have no negative comments and am generally interested to see how it turns out.

I enjoyed reading this story. It develops well and the conclusion is a suprise.

I had some confusion about the Angel Medallion and the Angel Card. After reading it again, I believe they are the same thing but it seems that something needs to be added to the initial description, that would tie card and medallion together. It's a minor point, that I wouldn't even mention, if it didn't play such a big part in the story.
