Dear Amiracol Reyne,
It was a miracle that today, Nov. 01, 2021, I chose to read your story fourteen years later since you have created it!!! I am sluggish and rarely read my e-mails before deleting them, but your story made me cry to God for forgiveness for my times of being an atheist. I cried in gratitude for your generosity in sharing your painful moments, and encouragement to open our eyes, and see God's grace in our life. Growing up in a Communist East-European country, we learned from an early age to believe in ourselves only.
Over the years, God saved my life so many times: osteomyelitis at 9, 3 times from drawing between 14 and 35, replenishing my blood at a charitable hospital after losing 3/4 of it. God protected my daughter from becoming an orphan at the age of 10 in a strange country! God saved my daughter from taking the wrong medical treatment following a misdiagnosis. YES, I became a strong believer in God, and pray daily not to leave us ever alone. I cry in gratitude for people like yourself and praise GOD! May God Bless you always!

There is no way for me to upload my contest entry even though I am an Upgraded Member. I tried the Survey form, I tried the Static item. Everything is bombastic!

Yes, you pointed out the reality in politics. The history is repeating itself; the same drama, different actors. The human condition did not evolve much, but the means of reaction did. The World War I was won with fire arms, the World War II with a nuclear bomb, the World War III will be won through the cyber attack, but I am sure the World War III will be won with stones and sticks again. This conclusion I reached after reading your story.

I really think that adding a little bit of humor to it will raise the grade. I am sure you can do it!

A very emotional expression about our present reality. I met again and again, in this poem, the young adolescent sleeping on the entrance of an empty building advertised for $2 million worth sale. She was pregnant, nowhere to go. Was she the future mother of 6? Where are the pro-lifers, where is our best social system in the world? I am sure you continue to write about poverty in order to open the eyes of those in control, and those controlled by their greed only. In a fair society, no child should be raised by a single mother whose 6 children cannot know who their father is. Life begins in the womb, but it shouldn't become hell once outside the womb. Your poem made me cry but gave me hope in the same time. Thank you, please write on!

A simple, extremely concentration of emotions, invitation to relax, love, human closeness, beautifully and, why not, sensually expressed. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, your poem makes me cry! A life lost but life still there! Beautifully expressed. Things happen during a lifelong marriage, changes, sickness, disappearances, adaptations but one thing remains forever stable: LOVE. You have expressed that deeply. Thank you for this!

Waiting for a new one to follow. Could be " Unmarried but happy in love" or "Unmarried but happy not single"?

I am sure you can do it and improving the rhyme at the same time.

Your story is so moving! George's suffering for his wife transported me, the reader, right there at every scene, every moment of Heather's journey. The character's confrontation with the reality of being in the last stage of an incurable disease, the pain of being alone pleading with a silent God is so powerful in creating a real interhuman connection.

Even though is a very short story, it leaves us with an immense human lesson: yes, we will be just fine always. That can be the real divinity in us!

I will carry this story in my heart when crying for every suffering human I know.
Thank you so much, and I hope I can read it again in a hardcover book.

Review of The Confession

Powerful, present time use adds to the emotion. This character state of mind cannot help not to avoid to think above all the wars, all the victims of all times, and of all nations. Question: Can he has an opinion after passing away... can this continue? I will be curious to read his thoughts.

Thank you.
