A few spelling errors you may want to fix *Wink*
guards not gaurds
then not than (wrong form of the word)
Good job though.
It has good imagery and that is important in a poem.

Good. Nice depressing ending, however I disagree with you on the inconsistency of the moon. The moon is one of the most consistent things I know. It has been going through it's phases for countless years.
