I believe there's a line in the Tao te Ching about that. Wait here while I look it up... Okay, I'm back. Yep, it's on page 46.

"When a country is in harmony with the Tao,
the factories make trucks and tractors.
When a country goes counter to the Tao,
warheads are stockpiled outside the cities."

If you haven't already read it, you really should. You can get it for free online. Just Google "Tao te Ching" for a bazillion choices.

Oh yes, and I really, REALLY like your poem. It says a whole lot, and it does it with even fewer words. Here is a rare specimen of honestly good poetry!
