Interesting story. I like the way you used the dialog mixed with Tom's thoughts-nice message too.

I used to operate a comedy club near Seattle. This is a great "Street Joke" that I've heard a few times. You have captured it perfectly with your writing. Last time I heard it the young wife was bending over to pick up lettuce at Safeway. It's all in the way you tell, or write the joke to make it funny-love the punch line.

Keep Writing, Phatman

This is a good story, I especially enjoyed the ending. I am also a dog lover. The animal shelter can be such a sad place. You are a talented story teller...please keep on writing.

Best Regards, Phatman

I remember the deadbeats on the old paper route-tough life lesson learned. It's interesting how the news paper companies got away with taking advantage of the naïve youngsters. I appreciate your fine writing.

You write very well. This is a very interesting story. I'm glad no one in your family was injured by the staples-you did the right thing notifying the FDA. I'm not a fan of Hormel chili-I prefer to make my own. We do love chili dogs with cheese and onions!

Thanks, Phatman

As a youngster, I delivered early morning newspapers in the predawn icy winters of Upper Michigan. Your story describes the experience in vivid detail--the crunching of the frozen snow underfoot, the amplified sound of the cold stillness and the unfairness of the boys paying for shortages. I enjoyed this very much.

Thanks, Phatman

I love Spring, dogs and am familiar with spring fever-so appreciated your story. A well written and enjoyable tale. I like to double space my paragraphs to make things easier to read.

Thanks, Phatman

I was born a "Yooper" and attended Northern Michigan University from Nineteen Seventy Nine to Nineteen Eighty One. I lived in Gries Residence Hall. I majored in Wildlife Biology....specializing in the "wildlife" discipline. We often enjoyed "Quart Night" at Andy's bar as well as disco dancing at the Alibi Nightclub on Wright Street. My fondest memory was climbing Sugar Loaf Mountain on a beautiful Autumn weekend day while carrying a quarter barrel of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. The scenery was magnificent...it was the peak of the Fall season and the landscape was painted with color framed by a sunny blue sky. The beer and fellowship of good friends added jovialness to the atmosphere... we laughed as we rolled the empty keg down the mountain. We attended a Marshall Tucker concert later that evening at the Hedgecock Fieldhouse..."Can't you see, Can't you see." "What that woman's been doing to me." It was the most wonderful day...I miss my old friends. Thanks for bringing back memories of good times.

I knew a few Indians but never experienced any paranormal activities in Marquette. I enjoyed your story.

Thanks for the great rating on "Cheeseburger in Paradise"

I really enjoyed your essay. Playing hide and seek was also a childhood memory of mine. I'm glad your grandfather had the intuition to save you.

Thanks, Phatman
