This is nice. My inclination is pointing to the line-for the hesrt to never hurt again. This set the mood for the entire piece to me. It sounds like someone is dying of a broken heart, and thinks that death would make that pain go away. Only my opinion, I tell it like I see it. I really enjoyed reviewing your work. I'm in tears. I adored each and every word. The ending is so surreal for me, for my grandparents raised me, then the years rolled by, and then I was taking care of them. When I had to put grandpa in the nursing home, after breaking my back, he felt the very same way about the color of his room, etc. One day, I went, got his things, and brought him back home, but that was a bad idea. Sorry to ramble on, your story touched my heart tonight.

The first strange thing, my ,maiden name was Garris, and I don't hear that name very often. I think that is cool. Ok, now that I got that out of the way.
This story had, and still has me on the edge of my computer chair. I'm biting my nails also, thanks to you. lol From my perspective, this is one brilliantly penned story. I love it. This is one emotional piece. It is so very strange, but I got the same feeling in the pit of my stomach, just reading your introductio that Mrs. Fulton had. Oh the dreaded gut feeling. I actually abhor them. It was like I knew what you were going to write, even before I read it. Your story is short, yet filled with everything from a to z, as far as imagery, and drawing the reader in right off the bat. A few minor, minor typos, but that doesn't bother me, or take anything at all away from the superb penning. I can tell you have an avid storytelling ability. This is very good, and very sad. Well, I certainly feel this is such a piece with deep,deep scars and emotion. I truly enjoyed it, but have just a few things:
1. the piece is choppy, I am used to seeing stanza.
2. I would call this type free verse?
3. Some will flip about the placing of commas, and periods. That doesn't bother me at all.
I feel the concept of the write to be very touching. If it's about you, drop a note anytime if ya need a friend!!!!!!!!
