Oh I really loved the feel of the phrase "hour of the wolf". Being both a writer and an insomniac, I totally know what that time of the night is.......
In the first paragraph I have a humble suggestion of exchanging the word started for something a bit softer like begun, to keep with the feeling of those lines. My favorite part of course being the shifts in the reoccuring "hour of the wolf" verses. Thank you for sharing.
I guess when we read others' writing we are struck by certain things because of our own histories. The end of this when the sad voice within is speaking, was extremely poignant for me. I think that part could easily carry impact on it's own and when combined with the funeral it is very powerful!! The loss and sorrow spoken here resonates in my own heart. Thank you for sharing.
I feel like there is so much more to this story and I find my mind eagerly asking questions......
