Good bit, simple rhyme scheme, meaningful message; just not that provocative, though, you know? I dunno, because I feel bad saying something-- it was a good poem, and I was impressed. Maybe that's why I'm offering this suggestion, because not everybody puts out a poem like this everyday. Make it a little more edgy, or a little more biased, even on a topic like justice, and you'll get a lot more response from the reader. Just the same, 4.5, excellent piece! Keep up the good work.

Horrible stuff, isn't it? I never have supported the death penalty since I was a kid, mostly based on that whole fear of death thing. If it were a spur of the moment thing, and nobody saw it coming, I guess death wouldn't be so awful for the victim; but sitting through the appeals and the long years in prison? They say it's not a deterrant, but hey, if I dropped my sanity at the door and decided killing was suddenly a good idea, I think I'd think twice given this sort of fate.
This Hick's ranting aside, I think you have a gift with words. Down-beat, down-trodden words, but gifted nonetheless. The dark aspects of life have to be explored too, now don't they? Keep on writing what you're writing, and try something new every now and then, because I can tell just by reading this you've got quite a lot of talent. Keep up the good work, Emelyn, I can't rate this below a five!

Damn brilliant, although, to be honest, the only other Greek I ever met was a girl I dated way back in High School; her family was crazy, and about the most entertainment I ever got at a dinner anywhere. We still keep in touch-- I think she's mentioned the Turks now and again, but only vaguely(I doubt I could put Turkey on a map. How's that for the benefits of a classical education?). Basically, what I'm trying to say here in a round-about somewhat drunken manner is, you guys are alright, even though I know nothing about you! And 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' was an okay flick.

I follow your logic through and through; my sister turned out to be a defense attorney, and my-oh-my she'll disagree with you, but from the practical aspect you've got my vote 100% of the way. Nice examples, you certainly dumbed it down, but still projected your point with precise and deliberate words and statements. Great argument! Here's a 5.0, because I don't grade like a critic of Shakespearing Literature, :). Keep up the good work!
Thought it was a very interesting piece; I laughed, and that's an accomplishment, I'm practically humorless! I have a feeling this will do good for more audiences than one, and even if it never makes the big screen, I think you've got a talent!
