As I read through this excellent sestina, I was drowned with things I wanted to say. With each line, they kept adding on. But, when I got down to write a comment, all that I could muster is this - perfection is always born in pain's womb.
"Now I smile, I laugh at my disappearing will.
Oh, given a choice of course, I’d poof away the pain.
But no magic Merlin comes to me. At first,
when I was young I used to chant away the night
with the biblical ghosts of godness who jeered everywhere,
“My yoke is easy, My burden is light…”"
All I can say to this sestet is a tepid "this is my favorite" but, I can assure you it's doing something to me still.
I even love the flexibily regarding "where" and "wear" in the sixth sestet. Justice done to an extremely complicated form of poetry!
At the end of it, I wonder why this is the first article of yours that I have read thus far...silly me
