It is dark to be sure, but so well written that the reader (me) got sucked into it, wanting to see how things work there way out.

Maybe the world is too jaded for this Utopian view but we can all hope.
I have been watching a lot of history lately and frankly shocked at how individual people, throughout history, feel they are so special they will sacrifice, forsake, everybody else in their quest to live forever. Even empires that have been considered Utopian.
