Review of How to Smile

Bazman,

A touching, heart-felt poem.

I can sense that you are searching for "happiness"; and the fact that you wrote a succint piece makes me feel that whatever is causing your discomfort or displeasure, it's one that has left you longing for the simple things in life, even just to enjoy a laugh or two. But I also sense that you have a kind and sensitive heart; not to laugh at another's expense. Your sincerity and feelings "speak" volumes.

I would encourage you to continue to write about your feelings. If you must start with pieces that chronicle events, go for it; move slowly to pieces more descriptive of your feelings and emotions as they are....; not so much as you would like them to be. Lastly, Allow yourself time to accept and validate those feelings; and anchor your happiness to values which matter most to you.

I am hopeful you will overcome these melancholy feelings and look forward to reading more of your promising work.

These are my feelings and thoughts. It's always prudent to consider the assistance of a medical professional or counselor, especially if the feelings become overwhelming and unmanageable.

Review of Fallen Angel

KoRn,

Very thought provoking poem. The concept of pain (yours, hers, and your shared pain together) certainly comes alive by your persuasive and effective use of words. I can sense your pain.

Perhaps writing of the pain can be therapeutic? (Hopefully easing some of it.) In my humble opinion, letting go is made possible when one can "wrap one's arms" around the pain, allows oneself the luxury to feel the same, and accept that pain is a learned concept, which can be lessened in intensity over time. As the saying goes... time is the best healer. I feel you are on he right track by expressing your pain in a constructive manner.

Please note that these are my feelings and impressions, not meant to be a substitute for professional, medical advice.
