It was a good read, however I think the characters need a little more background story. You touch on it a couple times but never anything really concrete.

It's a good idea. The story needs a little more texture to it however. Your attention to detail is good but sometimes unwarrented. For example when you used "six inch snow" yes its important to give the information that there was snow but as detailed as that is not entirely nessessary. Also, there were some spelling and grammar mistakes. Overall though it was an attention grabbing short story.
