Now, nothing
In the moment- everything.
Is true. this is the power of charm and surge of emotion. they sweep you off the feet and confine you to live the moment which we rarely do are inclined. But like the aftermath of all devastations, we are alone, hallowing the past and counting the debris.

the only defect i find is that it is not poetised. Its more like a matter-of-fact statement. such good ideas just vanish into thin air like a stroke of lightning. bewildering and brightening our surrounding darkness for a fleeting nanosecond. All lightnings are alike. You can't distinguish one from another though no two are the same.

But a poem should leave a lasting impression. It should be like a rain on a parched ground. soothes to startwith, overwhelms next, sinks in and ultimately carpets a vast verdurous landscape springing myriads of nascent shoots all over.

Its is blessing to be revered and loved by people who are not your kin. The irony of life is that we fail to give the same amount of concession to our own kin what we volunteer, at times, to the others. this often is the chief reason for misunderstandings between people.
Coming to the poem, there is transparent honesty in the expression and the rhyme is so natural and not at all stretched for the heck of it.

A Very good piece. Perhaps Atheism is as old as theism itself. in a lighter vein you can say satan is the first atheist who did not believe in God and created his own world. a always, it depends upon which side of th efence you are to support or condemn the party in question. as rightly said, all atheists are humanists. This is not by random choice or an outcome of a bad experience in life, as most people confuse. It is a deliberate and conscious choice, an attempt to take responsibility for the acts they do, and also with a fair understanding that events of the world happen not because of a super computer god programming it ( perhaps, continuously programming it to the nano second) but because they happen as they are without any pre-determined purpose. At times they converge in the idea about 'our inability to influence the outcome of an event' and the 'insignificance of the individual with reference to cosmos' with theists but they converge at the idea for different reasons.
Perhaps, a detailed discussion or exchange of opinions is necessary.Over all, its a fine article. Congrats for thought provoking writing.
