Your story had me captivated through to the very end. I enjoyed the ending most of all, and found it to be riveting. Your description of the baby making it's was out side of the mother was highly disturbing and I did enjoy it so. BRAVO!
This was a very gripping story. The compassion the main character felt for the old woman, as he remembered his past with grief, was well played out. I could feel the rugged, grimy, existence that this person lived in. I like to think at times people no matter how difficult an existence they might have had, they still deep down have humanity. You displayed this thoughtfully throughout this piece.
Well done the story came to an interesting climax one that compelled me to want to finish. You do have a few miss spelled words such as, "I kept a calm study (should be steady) pace while whistling my tune.
Also, "with the heels ready to be used weapons." should be ready to be used 'as' weapons.
Simple to fix, all in all, a fun read, I enjoy a good thriller, thanks.
This is an interesting piece of your soul you have placed here, most thinking people are always searching for answers to the all knowing. I to have sought information of enlightenment, my understanding of faith has altered greatly from that which I was taught in my childhood. I have through, time, experiences, and research come to a place that I am comfortable with. I understand life is what it is, our job is to learn from it and allow each experience good and difficult to be fully embraced in order that we might grow. I enjoyed this immensely, it was an interesting story, I am my fathers caregiver, he is 91 years old. I could relate with Phoebe's need for contact and conversation, you did that very well. She was spry as they usually are as they get older, not to forget we will be there someday if we are so blessed. You did a fine job conveying her plight.
I found this interesting and yes even a bit provocative. I became quiet intrigued with this woman and could relate with her interest in her fellow man which seemed to surround her. Her desire to not be seen, as she noticed plenty, was delicious, thank for a swell read.
