Review of Since You Left
Review by Brian Parvum
Rated: E | (4.0)
This was very short, but also very touching and emotional. I may have misinterpreted the meaning here, but that's the way it goes, right?

I didn't care for the very first line and felt it was a bit flowery and unnecessary... not quite grounded in the reality of the rest of the poem. The line "my fingers still reach for your shoulders" gives a clue that whoever she/he is, they are gone.

The 2nd verse reinforces that hint and is very grounded and is something we can all relate to.

I especially enjoyed the 3rd verse. Again, I may misinterpret here, but it seems that the reflection that is mentioned hints that the writer was affected by this person enormously, almost to the point of emulation. Not simply pantomiming, but changing to become more like the missing partner.

Well done, and well written. I enjoyed this.

Review of Film

I like it!

I especially like the term "celluloid memories". It expresses completely that air of artificiality surrounding all home movies. No one acts the same when the camera is on and the memories are tainted....

Review of opportunity
Review by Brian Parvum
Rated: E | (3.0)
Pros :
-I like the meaning, and I think this serves to reinforce a concept that all of us realize yet consistently fail to remember.
-I like the freeform style of the poem. I've never been a traditionalist and I find the innovation refreshing.

Cons :
-The grammar and misspellings make it a tough read, and are so blatant in places that the point can be missed.

Favorite Wording :
for they say opportunity knocks once at the door
and it is bizarre to be struck by lighting twice

I'm seriously impressed. This is the type of poetry I'd like to be able to put together.

Well done!

Review of Stand Up

Well said! I agree with the sentiment entirely, although I feel that most of the "abusers" you're referring to would never stop to question their own motives and actions. The human race is just... insensitive.

I like the tone and the format, but there are a few (minor) grammatical errors. All in all, I liked it!

I liked it! I'm not well-versed enough to offer any tips for improvement, unfortunately. I think the phrase "looping in my mind" captures that feeling perfectly. Very well done!
