Thank you for a moving and thought provoking story.
After reading it several times, I can "see" the painting of Misty Blue in my minds' eye. I only had one tiny thing that was hard to figure out- How old was she when she "grew up"; She seemed to be living with her father still, and it seemed that she was a younger girl when she accepted the ride and candy. This is only a small thing; when I re-read it, I placed her in her early teens, with her older self (post art classes) concluding the story. I hope I was right.
The "doesn't matter" tone at the beginning made her a beautiful spirit, something we all had at one young point in our lives; it also made her realization that Art Classes DID matter to her even more impactful on who she was, and now, who she is.
I asked for years to take art classes, and settled for HS Honor Art; when I recieved mY Silver Scroll Society scholarship to attend The Art Institute, it was a turning point in my life.
Your story gave me back some of those wonderful feelings, and for that, I thank you.

Review of So Far
Review by The Brad

We all need to go back into our memories at some point in our lives. Some relive them through stacks of photo albums; others through lively conversations with relatives we shared our lifetimes with; and still others, quietly, privately, through our dreams.
But our imagination has a limitless power that allows us to explore whatever we want, whenever we choose, about whomever we desire, or miss, or long for.
Sha Had Come So Far proves that there is no limit to the power of our longing for the past, and how any of us can relive, or once again FEEL those moments lost to time, lost to the finality of death.
This story was wonderful in the way it affected myself- everyone will experience something different, of course.
I wandered for a long time after I lost my daughter, then my father, then my wife. Visiting the gravesites were somewhat comforting, but also the stark, cold and harsh reminder of forever alone. '
I found myself traveling alot after those losses, from Miami to the Northernmost tip of Alaska; the bottom of Baja California to the edges of Newfoundland. But I always came home, to the midwest, to Chicago. I often drive to the places where I met my wife, where we raised our children, where we were the happiest. Though I know there others alive in those places now, making their own memories and histories, but the sounds of my families' laughter, crying, joyful screaming, and those lost, passionate moans shared with my wife always find their way to my minds' ears when I am near those places.
This story, so clear, visually expressive, and eloquently written, touched that part of me.
Thank you for writing it.

I truly thought I'd ace this contest, but the author dug a little deeper than most and totally beat me. 50% for someone who has read pretty much all of his works isn't very reassuring for myself. Keep writing these quizzes and I'll keep coming back! Thank you for the chance to enjoy.
