I have a lot in common with Maher's point of view, so certainly it affects my opinion of this piece. Maher is speaking of religion in general, not just Christians. He calls the bible a book of fairy tales, and although I am no expert on Judaism, I am certain the first five books of the Bible are the same as the Torah, (The Old Testament in Christian speak). Maher is entitled to his beliefs, as are we all.
