I like it. It's hard to define the emotion(s) your poem conjures up, a sort of wry understanding, compassion, whimsy, and connection. I (too) often flee bitter reality into a book, anyone's story but my own, often fueled by tea. As far as tips for improvement, poetry, especially prose, is hard to further refine, especially as long as the spelling and tenses are fine. How can you edit or refine someone else's fleeting impressions or deep emotions? Thank you for sharing yours.
