"To drift off into dreams
And gentle slumber deep"

I find these lines to be so peaceful. I can just picture myself in bed, comfortably, and drifting off.

"Snuggle under the covers"

This give off a nice warm feeling. I can imagine those cold winter nights and getting under the warm covers. It is a great feeling to remember.

"Many stories told"

Excellent way of describing dreams. They really are like stories.

This was an enjoyable poem to read.


Last I just want to note that I find it interesting that I discovered this poem, because I also did this prompt for the same contest almost a year ago. This is a wonderful poem. I can relate to a lot of things you said, involving my OCD.
And it is good to see you are trying to use writing as a way to help heal. I have been doing that too, and it does help. Writing is great for expressing thoughts and feelings. Keep it up and good luck in the future.

This is a great poem, and I think what is great about this is it can apply to any graduation class, for both H.S. and College. It also made me feel a little old, since I was H.S. freshmen in 2000. Nonetheless, very well written. Wish the best of luck to you and all of your generation.

Thank you so much for this how to guide. Many times, in the past, when I tried to make a PB&J I would fail and make a grilled cheese or a tuna fish sandwich by mistake. This has helped me out a lot. Now I can finally make a PB&J.

This is a great sad poem. I can feel the pain, I have been in this situation more times than I wanted. You wrote something so nice that I am sure it can speak to others too. Such a good job. Keep up the nice work. Hope you write more in the future for this site. I have joined over a month ago, and only regret not finding out about this site years ago.
