George,

This was a fascinating look at Alzheimer's from the other side of the mirror.

We are introduced to Sid when he goes into The Memory Lane Malt Shop for a quick bite to eat and experiences a strange phenomenon. He becomes a young man again and encounters a young version of his late wife.

He suspects this all a dream and is afraid that he will wake up.

This piece is a beautiful story that is skillfully written. A lovely read. Well done!

Ouch! That'll leave a mark. That was a wicked pun, Robert. You should warn people before you lob one of those into the crowd. *Laugh*

At first I couldn't figure it out... it was listed as a comedy, and other than the references to Ol' President Bill, it seemed like a fairly serious piece--well written, but not a belly buster.

Then, at the very end... Bam! Groan!

Well done. Excellent!

Snow,

This is an interesting revelation of where your missing spoons are going. The mystery is finally solved. There is a parallel universe!

Aha! This must also be the place where my odd socks disappear to.

I must confess I was shocked that you would even consider setting traps for the alien creatures who slip into your house through your coat closet. How could you? You might anger them... they could attack and blow our planet into kingdom come!

I did notice two typos:

I know what to use as bate bait. I can get spoons at one of the dollar stores to use as bate bait.

OR:

This was a fun read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done.

Blue,

This was quite a story that grabbed my attention. Although I wondered at the foolishness of the young lady continuing her pursuit when she realized there was an intruder, this is well written and kept my attention throughout. But I noticed this was written in '02, so I guess she didn't have a cell phone to call the police. *Laugh*

I liked the twist at the end.

I have a few suggestions. I am no expert, and they are merely my opinions, so please take them with a grain of salt:

He landed some fifteen feet away, cracking his head against the solid concrete. As soon as I heard the sickening thud as his head impacted against the floor, I let out a shrill scream.

I sucked in a breath and held it there, my heart beating rapidly again.

I picked up the strong, metal bar that Christian used to keep beside his bedside cabinet and thrust it into my right hand, clencning it tightly.

Well written and a good read.
