Of hope and despair.
Hello poisoned angel: hide your face no more. Try to move your broken wings. Try to find your flaming sword. Lift your face from out your hands. Gently, softly tippie-toe: heavy thoughts can break the moment, weary sighs can cost you all. I see that smile – just a little. I can read your thoughts right through your eyes. Stop and rest for just a moment: place your head upon my knee. Through my tears I see you draining, every wheeze a little life. Gently, gently slowly breathing, every breath a breath of life. I dare not touch what I can break and fragile leaves compose your face. I will not miss a single moment. I will not blink. I will not fail. Lean on me a little harder, poisoned angel coming home. Wipe the blood from off your blade. Things get better: things get harder. Wipe the blood from off your blade: anger never heals the soul. Please lean on me a little harder, poisoned angel coming home. Hope can mend your broken wings and flight can soothe your battered soul. Five more steps my perfect angel, you’re almost here; we’re almost home. Three more steps my loving angel: three more steps to take us home. Don’t stop now my only angel: fight the pain, push through the mist. I’ll lift you up my only angel and carry you those last three steps. In my arms I see you smiling, no longer poisoned, full of peace. I’ll stay with you my smiling angel and hold you close, and hold you tight. I’ll stay with you my healing angel, until you mend your broken wings.
