Finding hope and contentment when about to fall into despair.
On The Edge

When you sit alone on the edge of a rock,
That teeters on the edge of a waterfall drop,
About to submit to the pressure; the gloom;
The devil’s work to lead you to doom,
Its moistening drops seeping back out,
Leaving it to shrivel and crumble in drought,
That’s when the sheets of darkness arouse from beneath,
And encircle your desertion so tight, you can’t breathe
Nor think any further than the seal pounding upon,
Binding your heart into evil and destruction,
What will save you from the fall so great?
From which is no return but a bodily break.

Within your chest is a scream; an urge,
That spreads over your self like an electric surge,
And only if you take action will the darkness desist,
Only if you water your faith shall the rock persist,
Let the light of the Qur’an pierce through the dimness,
Let its every ray outshine doubts with its brightness,
Let faith help you depart and fly unto success,
Let neither depression nor sorrow hold you down in sadness,
Despair not in regret but turn your eyes away,
Revert to the truth and set sail to another bay,
Don’t anchor your ship by dwelling on the past,
In the midst of a tempest when you should escape fast,
For if you were to lose yourself in its obscurity,
Whence would come your light of purity?
Allow its lightning to spark faith back in your heart,
And its thunder to strike fear and remembrance as a start.

But what if that rock crumbles down to dust?
And you’re overwhelmed by desires and lust?
It feels like you’ve fallen,
So deep; so far from return,
Yet the light of hope always sparkles
To break free from downgrading shackles,
Like dawn overwhelming the night so deep;
A heavenly lustre surmounting in sweeps,
No matter how profound is your fall,
Always is there a way out; a call,
But only when you will it to happen
With firm resolve undaunted to slacken,
Escape from the gloom by forgetting your trips,
And focus on what shall get you to grips,
Then clasp tightly on to the saving rope,
And remember the brightness of having hope,
That God Forgives and showers with Mercy
Those who repent and return in sincerity.
