This is a story about me, about who I am now. This is a story about how I am a passionate and creative person. This is about how I love to write, but I never get to write what I want to, because when I put my true self into my writing, it gets shot down, so I keep the poems that mean the most to me in a notebook that no one is allowed to read.
This is a story about how I love to perform, but I can’t stand when people overly praise you for how good you are. This is not about how well I can sing, dance, or play an instrument. This is a story about my dreams and my fears, about how I’m afraid to say that I want to be a singer one day because I think it sounds childish, about how I refuse to take no for an answer and have joined choir and have started voice lessons, but still refuse to sing in front of my best friends.

This is not a story about what others believe about me. This is not a story about defeat or heartbreak, though I have experienced both. This is not a story about who I used to be, or what I might become. This is not about pity for me for the fact that I lost my mother at age 12. This is about how my experiences have left me, whole and intact. This is about how I had to grow up before I was ready and have already become one of those beautiful young ladies that you hear about. This is about how I have grown up and what that means to me. It means that life goes on there, is no stopping it. This is about how being five years old was the best time of my life; mommy and daddy, no worries, no school, play-time, and Michael Powers and Roby Robinson.. This is a story about friends that see you through, and don’t care if you call crying, the people that help you through when you feel alone, the ones that call just to tell you they are bored. This is about how the classes I’m taking now, I chose to prepare me for a future that I can’t really see clearly yet, and how much that scares me

This is a story about how my English teacher assigned this assignment to tell her about myself in a unique style, and how I rolled my eyes and thought it would be easy. This is about how much I learned about me by writing this down. I learned that I have a lot to offer, I am lost, and that I have plenty to be thankful for. Also, I learned that I, at a fairly young age, have experienced life in its true meaning. Life is what I have made it. This is a story about the wonderful lessons that have to be learned and how much I wish I could write a million pages of this. This is a story about life. This is a story about me.

This is a story about how I put everything down onto paper, my heart, my soul, and how completely terrifying it is to let it go.
