About the cold touch of love
Mid December

Mid December I remember,
How we used to be,
Your whispers in my ear,
As your arms wrapped ‘round me.

I never really understood,
What you were meant to be.
But mid December I remember,
What you did to me.

You led me down your snowy path,
The crisp and innocent ground,
Led me to the field ahead
‘Til we not heard a sound.

I never really understood,
What you wanted me to see,
But mid December I remember,
How you wanted me.

You knocked me down onto the ground
And laid down next of me.
For mid December I remember,
What you meant to me.

Your frosty lips upon my own,
The sparkle in your eyes,
And with the force you used to tease me
You then took me by surprise.

For I remember mid December,
When all is said and done.
You took all that you wanted,
And after that you’re gone.

But I’ll remember mid December,
For the life that I shall live,
That even though you loved and left me
You gave me all that you could give.
