A little song I wrote. It's about not wanting to grow up.
Yestuday, I stopped and stared
at a little boy and girl
oh so simply content with their imaginations
and I wondered

Why can't we stay the way we were?
Why can't I undersant the things around me?
Why does my world have to change now?

Seasons change, and moods will differs
the only thing i can rely on is my past
Tonight
I stayed awak
and wached
my old home videos
relived my childhood
looked my life in a picture book
and I wondered

Why don't we stay the way we were?
Why can't I understand these people?
Why does the world have to change on me?

tomorrow I'll take his hand
make that sacred vow
we've gone from boy and girl
and cootie shots
to man and woman
and wedding bells
I can't say I'm sad we've
changed this way
But still I wonder

Why can't we stay the way we were back then?
Why can't I understand the simple pleasures of
playing in a field of daisies
jumping in an old creek bed
and all the mud upon my head
And...
Why does my live have to change
from the simplicity of friends
to the conplicated romance of
lovers?
