A poem about the fleeting glimpses of what could be.
Wishes

Many fishes
Swim this way,
Silvery,
Shiny,
Bodies flash by.

Many stars
Shine above,
Bright,
Light,
Points of wonder.

Through my fingers
Runs the sand.
Behind me
A footprint.

In my head,
There is,
Hope
In my heart;
I wish.

If wishes were stars,
Or fishes,
Or sand,
Or footprints following behind.
If we could
Be certain,
Of what,
The future is…
