A poem about my best friend - the cat who adopted me!
Willow, cat of blue grey hue,
How I'd love to be like you!
Full of life, no troubles dare
Ruffle your compacted fur.
You fill my life with lithesome grace -
Your presence brightens up the place.
You're my Wills, my son, my lad -
The little boy I never had.
Yet, my love is unrequited;
The loss of me won't leave you blighted.
You'd just move on, for you're a cat
To you it wouldn't matter that
I'm not around to fill your bowl.
You'd just find some other soul
To be gentle, to be kind -
Love doesn't even cross your mind.
For this much I know is true -
Willow, you belong to you.
