Mirror mirror on the wall
what is the image that you recall

Is it that of a life that’s been so fair
or is it one that’s the cause of only despair

What do you see when you look into my eyes
is it one that’s a fool or one that is wise

What have you seen as the years have gone by
the spirit of truth or that of a lie

Has my expression shown kindness to others about
or has it displayed judgment, misery and doubt

Can you see that I know God, is it there to observe
or does my reflection show some measure of reserve

What do you see when times are bad
is it that of faith or that I’ve been had

When I am sad do you see only despair
or do the tears show healing resulted from prayer

what is the image that you recall

Is it an image that pleases God’s heart
please tell me ‘yes’ so from me He’ll never part
