A fairy visited me when I was overcome with writer's block.
Writer's Block

Staring blankly at the screen,
Writer’s block strikes again!
The one thing keeping me alive is caffeine,
Cobwebs clutter my brain.

I scrape my mind for words of power,
But my feeble attempts are in vain
Gaping at the monitor for the past hour,
I think I’m going insane.

Then, from my computer screen
I catch sight of a stirring within.
A fairy is blinking back at me!
She quips, “Where have you been?”

I think to myself, this can’t be true!
It has to be a dream!
She’s fluttering across the room,
With her delicate, angelic wings.

Then she spoke again to me,
And at her words I jumped.
“We’re becoming awfully bored in here,
Heard you’re in a writing slump,”

“We can help bring outlandish ideas to
That perplexed mind of yours,
But you must keep writing, silly fool!
You can’t just sit here and ignore!”

Then she winked an eye at me,
And as quickly as she had come,
She turned and plunged into the screen.
Just like that, was gone.
