Written years ago as a teenager when my Mom was driving me up the wall one night.
I wish I were a Poet
And I could sail the seven seas
Upon a single pencil tip
Without the slightest breeze.

I'd sail to far off India,
And down the Ivory Coast,
Away from all the little things
That trouble me the most.

I'd sail and sail, from dawn till dusk
And when my sailing's through,
I'd lay my pencil down again
And come back home to you.
