The emotions involved in dealing with the loss of a loved one
FEATHER IN THE WIND

Gentle breezes, touching softly,
my soul it cries today
Sadness, filled, with such deep sorrow,
never ending, never fades,
Somehow, I can't chase away

Feelings found still, deep within
hollow echoes in silent space,
New day dawns, blue whirled with gray
no trace, no promise, no gentle face

To warm my heart, I hide the tears,
for tears can't wash away,
enchanted hopes, dreams once shared,
yet just as dreams, they fade.

And as I gazed on open fields,
tear stained face, raised to dark skies
I watched my feather fly away,
and stood alone.. and cried...

But darkness can turn blue again,
unlike the butterfly,
who dances in shadows of his joy
then suddenly, he dies.

Unlike the rainbow, I now see
hovering gently, over me
Although it often goes away,
it does return, for brighter days.

And now I stand alone and sing,
The song of the soul not dying.
