A Christmas poem I entered into a competetion which I quite like!
Christmas time excites me so,
Holly bushes and mistletoe,
But if anything comes above,
The presents joy and family fun,
It's you my love, my only one.

I think of fires and cuddled nights,
Silly things - like snowball fights,
Of all the hours spent away,
it's worth them all for Christmas day.

I always wake at the crack of dawn,
With a grinning smile and stifled yawn.
I want to see your smiling face,
and put you in a happy place,
As we open gifts and Christmas cards,
Enjoy the tree and pretty stars.

Then we eat a pile of food,
Which puts us in a happy mood.
We laugh and smile and have some cake,
Barely able to stay awake.

The day is over, the night is dark,
Snow falls down, across the park.
We kiss goodnight and say farewell,
As we listen to the midnight bell
