A poem of the frustration I felt during a break up.
I loved you.
I never wanted to.
Your eyes told me truth,
Even through the lies.

My heart never wanted to listen.
Till you spoke to me.
Told me it was so.

Because you never loved me.
Even though you always wanted to.
You lied and cheated.
When I laughed, you made me cry.
I asked you why,
you turned away from me.

The only thing you said,
just that things weren't meant to be.
Now I walk along the road
thinking of your memories.
Still you make me cry,
when I should laugh.

I asked if we could work it out.
You said no, hung up the phone.
I can't figure out this mess
and you won't talk to me.
What did I do wrong ?

I only loved you for yourself,
and not someone else.
Maybe that's why
you can't understand
the reasons I cry.
