This poem is one of the first I've written. It's not very good but please rate it.
Tangled laces,
Lost embraces,
Lonely birds in empty cages,
Kids fall behind in too long races,
Gaze at unfamiliar faces,
You are lost, they found no traces,
Unclaimed, battered, lonely cases,
Are you the queens, the jacks or aces?
Alone in vast deserted spaces,
Become obsessed with random crazes,
You run for home when you've lost your basis,
In panic you forsake your graces,
Hearts beat roughly at single paces,
What your mind loses your heart replaces,
Teeth constrained in metal braces,
Through the world a lifetime lazes,
Perform your life on different stages,
An imprisoned eye at freedom gazes,
Flick through garish plastic pages,
Forget your soul in mental mazes,
You’ll lose yourself at certain ages,
Can you be happy on low wages?
Love is when the heart engages,
Describe yourself with empty phrases,
Does your mind jump when your heart rages?
What you can't explain you label ‘phases’
Should you trust flickers or believe in blazes?
Cloud the world over with thick glazes,
On some you cannot overstate your praises,
What was lost to the depths, your thought raises,
It is often your courage that most amazes,
Be blinded by terrific lasers,
You can cut yourself with mental razors,

I’ve lost my mind in certain places.
