The more organised version of a poem inspired by Irresistible Poison, Rhysenn's H/D.
...is not hate; it is indifference."

By the light of waning moonbeams,
I saw you, and you, I. My dreams
Taunt me, nightly, reminiscent
Of forbidden memories; I shake my head, silent.

A quick flash of utter desolation
Crosses eyes of quicksilver, your vision
Is clouded, and I pity you.
But not hate, no, I’m not cruel, that much’s true.
For they all say, the opposite of love is hate.

Yet you know, I see it in your eyes,
Those eyes of passionate silver, of dangerous ice.
What I cannot feel, will not feel.
You hurt, but I can do nothing to heal.

You are proud, but aware my heart isn’t yours to hold,
But I don’t understand. Why? Why are you pained, so?
I cannot comprehend;
I hate you not, that much I ken.
Then, is what they say not true?

Confusion overwhelms me.
Your eyes, they say I spoke too soon, they mock me.
For now I, not you, start to feel
This strange, unfamiliar ache; so. surreal.

You know, but something changes.
You do nothing, no one else knows
Or understands, yet you ignore,
You shrug, turn away; I can’t take more.
Don’t go. They’re wrong.
Don’t go.
Please.
