This item is a poem which i wrote in honour of those who lost their lives in world war 1.
Life and death,
war and blood,
people lie
in fields of mud.

Above the trenches
gunshots fly,
soldiers shout,
time to die.

In no-mans land
barbed fences rise,
smoke and gas creep
to the skies.

Last shot fired,
the battle's won.
Survivors rest,
the war is won.

Now the poppies grow
up to the sky,
their blood-red heads
held up high.

Silence echoes
through the land
I still hear the guns
though alone i stand

Songs of sadness
hang in the mist,
thousands of names
on the memorial lists.
