My feelings on the end of a relationship
I asked for this, it must have been
I created this, but that was then.
I’m new, now old, I’ve shed my past
In memory, still, my future is cast.

I trusted my heart, sadness followed
All of my good, he selfishly swallowed.

He said one thing, but actions were louder
“Not worth it; can live without her”.
Why was I blind for so many years;
Pretending I wasn’t shedding these tears?

Lesson learned, as quiet descends
Too late now, to make amends
