Entry for the Million Gift Points contest.
If I must drown, drink darkness in my mouth
For you, for only you, I dare to fall.
My jewel of paradise and breath of life,
For you, for only you, I yearn to call.

Ibtihal, read this prayer within my soul
Although the distance hides my aching form.
Outfly the fear that screams to shred your wings,
And let me be your refuge from the storm.

Let meadows be your freedom, touched with dew,
Forgetting harsh and bitter winds of war.
Let Heaven's sea of stars enchant your eyes,
Your heart with mine entwined forevermore.

Ibtihal, send your kiss across the sea,
And let it find the one whom you complete -
The man whose world is lost except for you,
Your Josh, whose spirit mourns until we meet.
