Just something that popped into my head
Untitled

The tears fall freely from my eyes
With the assistance of my broken soul
The place beside me so empty without you
Wrapped around myself, arms of cold

Curled up into a little ball I rock myself
Refusing to claim ownership of these emotions
For I am strong? I am fierce? I scold myself
Nothing said will free me for what's done is done

The tears fall freely from my eyes
A rose without its thorns yet still a rose
Me without my defenses, I lay, now exposed
With a hidden wish to decompose

We hardly had a chance you and I
But even with that recognition I still miss you
For I doubt the wound which plagues my heart will heal
The infection runs deep, all the way through..
